Un Castell Built for Two was a collaboration with Orange Grove Dance Choreographers' Matthew Reeves and Colette Krogol. This piece was about forming connections between each other, and our community. I recorded a rehearsal capturing slaps, stomps, and squeaks. Using these samples I created a sound-score to drive the energy of this piece.
A description from the Choreographers;
New dance work paralleling balance of human tower building and powerful connections. New dance work paralleling balance of human tower building and powerful connections. Un castell built for two. is a new evening length work, paralleling the precarious balance of human tower building and the powerful connections it brings to it’s participants. Profoundly inspired by their recent residency work in Lloren Del Penedes, Spain, Matt Reeves and Colette Krogol use their embodied knowledge of contact improvisation and partnering work to explore new methods of weight sharing, relationship, and interdependence.
